Kathia Maria Davis, a Laguna Niguel woman, was convicted of sexually assaulting two teenage boys who played hockey with a teen relative and sentenced this week.
In August 2012, a jury found Davis guilty of four felony counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old boy and two misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. However, the jury was unable to reach a verdict on charges related to the alleged assault of a 14-year-old.
Prosecutors said that between 2010 and 2011, Davis had unlawful intercourse with the 16-year-old a number of four times and provided him with alcohol. The 16-year-old told his mother about the sexual relationship with Davis, and the alcohol she gave him, and she contacted the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Officials said the victim notified his mother of the relationship, prompting a sheriff’s inquiry. During an investigation, authorities discovered there was a second and possibly third victim. This led to the discovery the the 14-year-old boy.
Prosecutors said that on one occasion between April 2006 and April 2008, Davis let her teenage relative and the 16-year-old guest drink alcohol during a sleepover at her home. After the other teens feel asleep on the floor, Davis kissed and sexually assaulted the 14-year old, prosecutors said. In June 2013, a separate jury found her guilty of four felony counts of lewd acts on a child in the case of the 14-year-old boy.
Davis was sentenced Tuesday to 16 months in prison, followed by three years of parole. Davis will also have to register as a lifetime sex offender as part of her sentence, according to a statement from the Orange County district attorney’s office.
